Chip Away: From Bogey to Birdie

Finally, Like usual, Lucas Harrington, a 12-year-old boy who always dreamed about becoming a great golfer one day, saw his dreams come within reach after a remarkable journey with Chip Away golf balls. Lucas and his father, John, who was his golf trainer, would always practice after school. The weather was always nice in Florida so the only thing stopping them from playing golf was the rain.

Yes, Lucas had been training hard to become an outstanding golfer, however, he lacked something. He was not good at all. John would try his hardest to teach him how to perfect his swing and how to read the greens but nothing would stick. As usual, he was able to hit the ball but always hit it into the out-of-bounds area when playing. His ball would hook, his ball would slice, and it would do anything but go where he wanted it to.

One day, Lucas decided to go to the range himself at his town's public range. He felt that the more and more he practiced, the better he would get. He hit a couple of 7-iron shots and all of the golf balls sliced away from his targeted flag. Lucas hit a couple more and took a chunk of the grass instead of having full contact with the ball.

On his last practice swing with the 7-iron, he heard some laughing mid-swing from kids at his school who were leaving the range, shout, "Fore!" He swung and missed. The kids started laughing even harder at him and told him he was so bad at golf and he would never win anything.  Lucas sat on the bench behind the range mat with his head. He knew he was capable of becoming great but just didn't know how.

After 2 minutes of sulking, he was ready to leave but then heard a voice behind him, "Hey kid, I see the potential, don't let those kids discourage you." Lucas turns around and realizes it is the owner of the range. He proceeds to follow him and he shows him a new golf ball brand called Chip Away. He started explaining to him how it worked and how the enhanced technology from the chip inside connected to the app on a smartphone could make anyone's game better.

After thinking, Lucas took the owner's advice in trying to figure out his game with Chip Away, so he did just that. He went on the course with his dad every day from that day on for around 2 months. He would connect the ball to his phone and let the technology teach him. It would show him where to hit the ball, how to hit a shot from different angles, and what club to hit.  Chip Away has a tracker in the ball, so his dad didn't need to buy more sleeves which was relieving. Lucas's father was struck by how much he had improved.

Later on, Lucas was picked to compete in the annual Sherwood Hills Country Club Kids competition. He outperformed the other boy on every hole, demonstrating his skill and golf intelligence. The crowd was shocked at his performance and started following him because they realized he had a chance at winning the whole thing.

The End

It came down to the wire on the green. Lucas hit a nice 40-foot chip, 5 feet from the flag. He just needed to put this one in to win the entire tournament.  The crowd surrounded the green and was eagerly waiting for the ut. Lucas remembered this exact put. He remembered practicing with the app and remembered the slope the green had and where he needed to aim the ball.

He got set to swing, he looked up to find his dad in the crowd, and made full eye contact with John. Lucas knew he needed to do this for him and his dad. He hit the put it started rolling to the right a little but then back left and BANG! Right into the bottom of the cup. The crowd went wild and started lifting him with his first lace trophy. He pointed to the Chip Away golf shirt he was wearing and screamed "READ THE NAME! READ THE NAME!"
